PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

1. Basic Definition & Cutting Principle


Oxy-fuel flame cutting (short for gas cutting/flame cutting) is a mainstream thermal processing blanking service that processes thick carbon steel plates with high-temperature flames mixed by oxygen and combustible gas.
  1. Preheating Stage: Acetylene or propane mixed with oxygen generates high-temperature flame at around 3000°C, heating local steel plates to ignition point (700–900°C).
  2. Oxidation Cutting: High-pressure pure oxygen is injected to trigger violent oxidation of iron with heat release, producing low-melting iron oxide slag.
  3. Slag Discharging & Forming: Continuous high-pressure oxygen flow blows away molten slag to form regular cutting kerf and complete plate separation.

2. Processable Materials & Thickness Range

(1) Applicable Steel Grades (ferritic carbon steel & low alloy steel only)

  • Ordinary carbon steel plate: Q235B, Q355B, 45#, 20#
  • Wear-resistant steel plate: NM400, NM450, NM500
  • Pressure vessel steel plate: A516Gr60, 16MnDR
  • High-strength low alloy plate: S355JR, Q690

Stainless steel, aluminum, copper, cast iron and high alloy steel (oxidation film prevents continuous combustion and shaping)

(3) Machinable Thickness

  • Preferred range: Medium & extra-thick steel plates of 10–300mm
  • Standard limit: 0.5–500mm; heavy-duty cutting torch can cut steel billets over 900mm
  • Disadvantage: Thin plates below 6mm tend to collapse with rough cut surfaces; laser or plasma cutting is preferred.

  1. Processing Table Size: Standard worktable 12000×3000mm; large-scale equipment supports steel plates up to 25m in length

    • Custom shape cutting per drawings: square, circle, flange, irregular mechanical base, excavator bucket blanks
    • Linear blanking, square block cutting, annular ring cutting, integrated forming of V/Y welding bevel
    • Simultaneous multi-head batch cutting for high-efficiency mass production
  3. Dimensional Tolerance: ±1.5mm for standard cutting; ±0.8mm for precision cutting with excellent verticality of cutting surface
  4. Supporting Post-processing: Deburring, leveling, sandblasting, drilling and integrated secondary machining after cutting
